“Super Square Off”
OFFICIAL RULES
1.NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR TO WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR ODDS OF WINNING. ALL FEDERAL, STATE, LOCAL AND MUNICIPAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS APPLY. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.
2.Eligibility. Subject to the additional restrictions below, the Argus Leader Media Super Square Off (the “Sweepstakes”) is open to U.S. residents (excluding Puerto Rico) who are 18 years or older at the time of entry. Employees of Argus Leader Media (“Sponsor”), Gannett Co., Inc., all participating advertisers appearing in the Official Super Square Off Grid, and each of their respective affiliated companies, and advertising and promotional agencies, and the immediate family members of, and any persons domiciled with, any such employees, are not eligible to enter or to win.
3.How To Enter. The Sweepstakes will begin at 12:01 a.m. (C.S.T.) on Wednesday, 2/3/10 and end at 11:59 p.m. (C.S.T.) on Saturday, 2/6/10 (the “Sweepstakes Period”).
To enter, complete an Official Super Square Off entry form/grid available on www.argusleader.com/supersqureoff . Pick ONLY ONE advertiser out of the squares on the grid. Each square contains the name of a participating advertiser. Choose your square randomly or choose based on which advertiser from whom you would like to win a prize. Select your advertiser in the drop down box on the Official Entry form, complete the requested information (including name, address, ZIP, daytime phone number and email address, if applicable)
Internet Entry Only: Enter by visiting the Super Square Off official registration page on at www.argusleader.com/supersqureoff by completing all of the required information and following all posted instructions. Winner must provide a copy of a valid driver’s license and provide a statement of full coverage from their insurance company. Your computer must accept cookies, or any successor or similar technology, which may be used for the purpose of entry tracking. Ad blocking software on your computer needs to be disabled so that it doesn’t interfere with processing your entry. Complete the entry form and any other required fields and then submit your entry by clicking on the “SEND” button. By entering, you agree to the terms of these Official Rules and to receive e-mails from Sponsor or those directed by Sponsor. You can opt-out of the receipt of such e-mails by following the directions on the Sweepstakes website or in any email received from Sponsor.
Enter as often as you like provided that multiple entries by means of software generated or other automated processes will be disregarded.
You may enter the Contest as often as you like but only one (1) prize per person.

Sponsor will not be responsible for incomplete, lost, late, misdirected or illegible entries or for failure to receive entries due to transmission failures or technical failures of any kind, including, without limitation, malfunctioning of any network, hardware or software, whether originating with sender or Sponsor. In the event of a dispute, all online entries will be deemed to have been submitted by the owner of the ISP account from which they were sent. For these purposes, an ISP account holder shall mean the natural person assigned to such ISP account by the Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization responsible for assigning ISP addresses for the domain associated with such ISP account. All entries become property of Sponsor and none will be returned. Any questions regarding the number of entries submitted or the owner of an ISP account shall be determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, and Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entries by persons determined to be tampering with or abusing any aspect of the Sweepstakes.
4.Winner Selection. On Sunday, February 7, the Argus Leader will reprint the Super Square Off grid that was originally printed the week of February 1, 2010. Random numbers from 0 to 9 will be added across the top of the grid (for NFC) and on the left of the grid (for AFC). The numbers on the grid will correspond to the last digits of each team’s score during the game. For example, a final score of 37 for one and 45 for the other corresponds to the numbers 7 and 5. A line will be drawn down the number 7 column for one team and across the number 5 row for the other. The square where these two lines intersect is the winning square. There will be four (4) winning squares based on the scores at the end of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd quarters and the final score at the end of the game.
One (1) Grand Prize Winner and three (3) First Prize Winners will be selected in four random drawings (one for each quarter of the game) from among all entries received to be held on or about February 8, 2010. Winners will be selected from the entries containing the correct grid square that corresponds to the score for that quarter, or the final score. In the event winning numbers are the same from the 1st quarter through the FINAL SCORE, a winner from each quarter will be randomly selected from all correct entries. If a winning square is not selected on any of the entries, all non-winning entries will be put into a random drawing to determine a winner.
5.Prizes and Odds. FOUR (4) prizes will be awarded.
a.1st quarter score winner gets a $100 gift certificate to the business listed on the winning square.
b.Halftime score winner gets a $100 gift certificate to the business listed on the winning square.
c.3rd quarter score winner gets a $100 gift certificate to the business listed on the winning square.
d.FINAL SCORE winner wins the GRAND PRIZE — a $250 gift certificate to the business listed on the winning square.
Odds of winning depend on the number of qualified entries received.
6.Winner Notification and Acceptance. Winners will be notified on or about Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at the telephone number provided on winner’s entry form. Sponsor will call during regular business hours at number provided on entry form and will leave no messages. Failure to reach winner by phone may result in disqualification of winner, forfeiture of his or her interest in all prizes, and selection of a substitute winner from among all remaining eligible entries. Winners may waive their right to receive prizes. Prizes are nonassignable and nontransferable. No substitutions allowed by winners. Prizes and individual components of prize packages are subject to availability and Sponsors reserve the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value. Winners are solely responsible for reporting and payment of any taxes on prizes. Winners may be required to complete an affidavit of eligibility/liability and publicity release which must be returned before the prize is awarded. Failure to complete, sign and return the affidavit, or to comply with any term or condition of these Official Rules, may result in a winner’s disqualification, the forfeiture of his or her interest in the prize, and the award of the prize to a substitute winner. Except where prohibited, acceptance of any prize constitutes winner’s consent to the publication of his or her name, biographical information and likeness in any media for any commercial or promotional purpose, without limitation the Internet, or further compensation. Prizes not won and claimed by eligible winners in accordance with these Official Rules will not be awarded and will remain the property of Sponsor.
7.Participation. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify persons found tampering with or otherwise abusing any aspect of this Sweepstakes as solely determined by Sponsor. In the event the Sweepstakes is compromised by tampering or other causes beyond the reasonable control of Sponsor which corrupts or impairs the administration, security, fairness or proper operation of the Sweepstakes, Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to suspend, modify or terminate the Sweepstakes. Should the Sweepstakes be terminated prior to the stated expiration date, Sponsor reserves the right to award prizes based on the entries received before the termination date.
8.Construction. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. In the event that any such provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable, these rules shall be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or unenforceable provision was not contained therein.
9.Sponsor. The Super Square Off is sponsored by Argus Leader Media. The decisions of the Sponsors regarding the selection of winners and all other aspects of the Sweepstakes shall be final and binding in all respects. Sponsors will not be responsible for typographical, printing or other inadvertent errors in these Official Rules or in other materials relating to the Sweepstakes.
